When it comes to using either neuromodulators (Botox™, Dysport®) or hyaluronic acids (Juvéderm®, Restylane, Teosyal®, Anteis® or Sculptra®), Dr. Caron uses and works with the most popular injectable products available in the field of aesthetic medicine.
These treatments are much more affordable than cosmetic surgery. They are also very safe when performed carefully.
Botox™ and Dysport® are neuromodulators that temporarily block muscle movement. Using an ultra-fine needle, the treatment consists in injecting small quantities of these products into the contracted muscles that are responsible for the formation of wrinkles.
The treatment causes minimal discomfort. At most, patients feel an insect bite-like sensation at the moment of injection. Tiny bruises may appear on the treated areas, but they disappear after a few days.
If needed, an anaesthetic cream is applied prior to the injections. Botox™ and Dysport® are also used to lift eyebrows or soften chin lines and horizontal neck wrinkles.
The effect is temporary and lasts approximatively four months.
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring sugar found in the human body. It also is a resorbable product that can be used in combination with Botox™.
These products have a face-lifting effect. These injectables are ideal to restore volume and redefine the contours of the face, especially the cheekbones. They have a corrective effect on the lines between the nose and the mouth – nasolabial folds – including smokers’ lips. Hyaluronic acid products are also used to create natural looking pulpy lips.
The treatment creates an instant effect that usually lasts for six to twelve months.
Sculptra® is used to treat the areas of the dermis that have lost volume and adiposity.
This injectable filler helps smooth and firm-up your skin gradually by stimulating the production of your own natural collagen. Noticeable results appear naturally and gradually after each treatment.
The number of treatments required is determined during your first visit. Usually, Sculptra® is injected in 3 treatments over the courses of a 3-4 months period. During that time, undesirable wrinkles and deep folds gradually disappear while the skin firms-up thanks to the production of collagen.
